The Family: Playoffs ‘08

Boston pushes Detroit to the edge of elimination with a 106-102 win in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals.

Paul Pierce and Co., as they have all year long, protected their home court. Behind Pierce’s 16-point, 6-assist, 5-rebound game, Boston took a 3-2 lead in what’s become a very tough series. By winning Game 5, Boston knew they put the pressure on Detroit.

“It’s a huge game,” said Pierce. “We know how tough it is to win in Detroit. It’s one of our biggest games of the year. We treated this like a Game 7.”

Rasheed Wallace found his three-point stroke for Detroit scoring 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting behind the arc. Game 6 will be in Detroit on Friday.
