The Family: Playoffs ‘08

Tayshaun Prince goes for a double-double to give Detroit the win and a 2-0 lead in their series with Orlando.

playoff_08_sm.jpgDetroit kept their home court advantage on Monday night behind 17 clutch points, 10 big boards and 5 assists from Tayshaun Prince. The double-double gave Detroit the push it needed to win 100-93, go up 2-0 in the series and preserve their home court advantage. Rashard Lewis put in a strong 22 points for Orlando but couldn’t carry them to a win.

But, as usual, Prince’s great play wasn’t just on the offensive end. He once again was the stopper for Detroit’s defense, and he knows defense is what wins championships.

“Our defense was just unbelievable down the stretch…in the fourth quarter, we played great defense,” said Prince.

Game 3 takes place in Orlando Wednesday night.

In the Western Conference, David West scored 10 points to give New Orleans a 2-0 lead over San Antonio.
