After scoring a career-high 41 points in Game 3, Parker put together another massive game with a team-high 31 points and 8 assists in Game 5 to clinch their first-round series.

Parker knew that when they had Phoenix on the ropes, San Antonio had to go in for the kill.

“We treated it like a Game 7 in the fourth quarter,” Parker said. “We just stayed in the game and kept fighting.”

New Orleans also fought for a Western Conference series victory Tuesday night as they rallied to outrun Dallas. David West had a team-high 25 points to go with 7 rebounds as his squad clinched their series in Game 5. Dirk Nowitzki’s team-high 22 points led Dallas, but in the end, it wasn’t enough. San Antonio and New Orleans will now meet in the second round of the playoffs.
