“Big Shot” Becky lives up to her name as she breaks the free throw record in New Orleans.
We knew she was good. We just didn’t know she was that good. This All-Star weekend brought out the best in all of the ballers that came to town. Not only did they take the opportunity to help rebuild NOLA through court dedications in local neighborhoods and by building new homes throughout the city, but they also took a little time out to have some fun. Guinness World Records challenged NBA and WNBA stars to see if they can top some of the greatest records ever set in the game.
Becky Hammon stepped up to the challenge in the free throw category, looking to break the record for the most free throws made in a minute. With all New Orleans supporting her she crushed it, posting up an amazing 38 buckets from the charity stripe.
Also, in Saturday night’s events, she teamed up with San Antonio ballers from past and present to win the Shooting Stars competition. The challenge required three-person teams made up of an current NBA player, a WNBA player and a former NBA great, all from the same city. They had to make a total of six shots from different points on the court with the final one a massive toss from mid-court.
