Another month, another Western Conference Rookie of the Month award for Kevin Durant.
K.D’s stellar play this year has him picking up awards like it’s clockwork, and surely has him on course to be the Rookie of the Year at the end of the season. With his third consecutive Rookie of the Month award, K.D. has now won every ROM award for the Western Conference this season.
The Seattle rookie, who will headline the Rookie Challenge on Feb. 15th at All-Star Weekend, leads all rookies in scoring with over 19 points per game. He started the month off strong with a 28-point effort against Phoenix on Jan. 3rd and continued the excellent play throughout the month with 26 points against the league champion San Antonio and 24 points against Cleveland in the last two games of the month.
“I want to be a winner, point blank. I want to be a champion in this league,” said Durant. “I want to be one of the people who earn the right to call themselves a champion.”
By powering his young team to wins against the league’s best and his mantelpiece filling up with awards, KD keeps getting closer to his dream.
