Nolan, Ford Drive Detroit to Conference Finals.

Nike ballers are leading the way in the postseason. Here are the latest results.

Detroit 71, New York 70

deanna_nolan2.jpgIn keeping with the theme of the 2007 playoffs, Tuesday night’s game was another overtime thriller. Per usual, All-Star Deanna Nolan brought Detroit’s best offensive game, leading the team with 22 points, but it was the exceptional play of veteran Cheryl Ford that got Detroit the 71-70 win. Ford, playing on a bad knee, stepped up with the crucial double-double - 17 points, 10 rebounds - that enabled to her team to eek out the series-ending win.

Detroit’s Katie Douglas also had 12 points in the winning cause. Catherine Kraayeveld had 16 points in the valiant, but losing, effort by New York. Detroit will go on the road to take on Indiana in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals on August 30.
