FIRST TEAM
Brandon Roy
Portland
A favorite for top rookie honors from the beginning, Roy wasted no time making an impact this season. His 16.8 points and four assists per game put him in a league of his own and has Portland fans looking forward to the future.
Andrea Bargnani
Toronto
The Italian-born #1 pick did not disappoint in his first year, turning heads since the summer league and averaging 11.6 points a game as he helped Toronto get to the playoffs.
Randy Foye
Minnesota
Randy showed plenty of promise this year, averaging 10.1 points and 2.8 assists in just 22.9 minutes per game and finishing strong with a season-high 26 points against Memphis in April.
Rudy Gay
Memphis
Rudy got better as the season went on, averaging 10.8 points a game thanks to performances like his high of 31 points against Indiana in February and his 20-point, 12-rebound, five-assist effort that got them a big win against LA on the road in March.
Jorge Garbajosa
Toronto
Despite a frustrating March injury that ended his season early, Garbajosa gave fans plenty to look forward to next year. His 8.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game showed an ability to contribute across the board for Toronto.
LaMarcus Aldridge
Portland
Aldridge showed a lot of skills in his 22.1 minutes per game, scoring nine points, grabbing five boards and netting 1.2 blocks per game for Portland. His best games came in March, when he scored 30 against Charlotte and got 10 rebounds and four blocks against Denver.
SECOND TEAM
Tyrus Thomas
Chicago
T-Time made the most of his minutes this year, changing the momentum of many games with monster blocks, coast-to-coast trips and dazzling dunks to finish strong over the league’s top defenders. He just put up 18 against Detroit, proving that the best of Thomas is yet to come.
Congratulations to everyone for their award-worthy accomplishments this season.
