Back with Miami for a second tour of duty, Mourning has established a legacy of courage and endurance that few can hope to match. As a rookie, Mourning averaged a double-double per game and ushered in a new era of big-man athleticism. Fifteen years later, he still makes the inside play look easy.
Both an offensive force and defensive juggernaut, Mourning raised the bar for what is considered championship play. He holds the record for the highest average of blocks per 48 minutes of play (5.46) and is Miami’s all-time leading scorer. And he’s not done yet.
Once again, Mourning and his teammates are staring down a championship as Miami gears up for the playoffs. As a seasoned warrior, Mourning’s contribution will be both on and off the court as he shows some of the younger players how it’s done.
