On the past
:
I’d rather play old school style of ball because that’s just me, old school retro. And to be here playing in the new era, the whole style has changed…my personal preference? Let’s play old school. Let’s go out there, throw the rock up and just ball.
On the present
:
There’s a lot more high flyers now, that’s what I call them. You know, guys who can get on that elevator and push any button, get off on any floor that they want to. You got Vince, he’s a high flyer. J-Rich. Shawn Marion, he’s a high flyer. Kobe, LeBron…a lot of the young guys, they’re some high flyers…it’s definitely changed.

On the future
:
I think it’s gonna be a lot faster. The style of the game is gonna be a lot faster…you see a little bit of it now with more of that European game. You got guys who are originally a small forward, on some teams they’re playing center, depending on the style of play from that coach. But with me, like I said, I’m straight old school. Point guards play point, two play the two, three play the three, four the four, five the five and so on. But it’s definitely gonna change.

On his impact
:
It’s really the love of the game…most people, the majority of people, will probably remember me for my technical fouls or whatever. But if you look past that, it’s just for the passion for the game. I’m not all about cereal boxes, I’m not all about big multi-million-dollar endorsement deals, because that’s not what I came in the league for. I came in here to win championships. All that other stuff is to the side. So I just want people to remember me for the passion and the love that I got for this game.
