We sat down with each of The Second Coming athletes to talk about the game. Today: LeBron James.

On the game:
I fell in love with it instantly, you know. That point right there, I think I was 9 years old, 8 years old, and instantly I fell in love with the game. And I was like, wow…this is what I want to make of my career.

On expectations:
It’s gonna be big, of course. But as the expectations grow, I grow as an individual, which makes our team grow as a unit…so I love it. I love the adversity, I love the expectations from everybody.

On drive:
The thing that I’ve done to motivate myself is to take everyone’s words, if it’s negative, positive – mostly negative, of course – and let it motivate me. I use it as strength. And the other thing that I do, I just be myself, I stay level-headed, I stay grounded. I don’t take anything for granted. Those things help motivate my game, help motivate me as a man, and that’s on the court and off the court.

On the future:
I just need to keep polishing my game every year, making it get better, finding new secrets that can help one aspect of my game improve. So i’m still working on that jump shot, I’m still working on that defensive end, I’m still working on just becoming a better player and a better teammate…I always felt, if I improve from one offseason to the regular season, my team automatically improves. So, caring about the team a lot, that’s what inspires my game to get better every year.
